
HPV Vaccination Campaign-More than 36,000 teenage girls in Banke will be vaccinated against HPV.

Banke-To make the HPV cervical cancer vaccination campaign, which will start tomorrow, Magh 22, a success, the Health Office, Banke, has organized an interaction and orientation program with stakeholders today.
Naresh Babu Shrestha, Public Health Officer and Vaccination Focal Person at the Health Office, Banke, has announced that 36,950 adolescent girls of the target age group will be vaccinated in eight local levels of Banke district as part of the vaccination campaign that will begin tomorrow, Magh 22.
At an interaction program organized by the Health Office, Banke, in Nepalgunj today with officials of the concerned District Vaccination Coordination Committee and media persons, the policies and programs adopted to make the vaccination campaign successful were discussed.
Naresh Babu Shrestha, Public Health Officer and Vaccination Focal Person at the Health Office, Banke, informed that the HPV vaccine will be administered to girls in grades 6 to 10 studying in schools and girls aged 10 to 14 who are not attending school.
The vaccination program in Banke district is said to be conducted in two phases. In the first phase, vaccination will be administered in Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City, Kohalpur Municipality, Khajura Rural Municipality, and Janaki Rural Municipality from tomorrow, Magh 22 to Falgun 1, while in the second phase, the program will be administered to targeted age groups of girls in Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality, Baijnath Rural Municipality, Narainapur Rural Municipality, and Duduwa Rural Municipality, informed Naresh Shrestha, Public Health Officer and Vaccination Focal Person at the Health Office, Banke.
It is said that the vaccination program will provide through 459 vaccination centers in Banke district.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Rajan Pandey, Consultant Physician at Bheri Zonal Hospital, Nepalgunj, said that this HPV vaccine against cervical cancer is safe and effective for adolescent girls of the target age group.
The interaction and orientation program organized by the Health Office Banke was attended by the Chief of the District Vaccination Coordination Committee Banke Gyanendra Kumar Chaudhary, Chief District Officer of Banke, Khagendra Rijal, Chief of the Health Office Banke, Angat Bahadur Shahi, Consultant Physician of Bheri Hospital Nepalgunj, Dr. Rajan Pandey, Public Health Officer and Vaccination Focal Person of the Health Office Banke, Naresh Babu Shrestha, media persons and other stakeholders.
