Remote Tanahun village get power supply
Damauli, Jan 3 : The remote Kanchhe village in Rishing Rural Municipality-7 in Tanahun district now has an access to electricity, creating a wave of excitement to the local folks. With the power supply, the locals have hoped for the better quality life and more opportunity for their kids' study.
Chairman of the rural municipality, Rajendra Krishna Shrestha, shared that altogether 56 households were electrified with support from the rural municipality and Nepal Electricity Authority, Gagangauda office. He added that the campaign for electrification in the village is in progress.
According to NEA Tanahun Distribution Centre, around 85 per cent of the households in the district have an access to electricity while some 12,000 households in the district still lack power supply.
Currently, the Centre is building a sub-station at Sarangghat of Bandipur for the rural electrification purpose and the power would be supplied in different villages of Anbukhairani and Devghat rural municipalities. The officials said that they are working for power supply in remaining villages in the district.
